2021 marks the anniversary of some special classic cars. There were plenty to choose from, each possessing different unique qualities and appeal. Here’s our five favorite classics celebrating milestones this year.

Bugatti EB110 - 30 years

Bugatti EB110 - 30 years

The Bugatti EB110 is a mid-engine sports car manufactured by Bugatti Automobile from 1991 to 1995. It was designed by Marcello Gandini, who also created the Lanborghini Miura, Diablo and Countach. It packs a 3.5-litre V12 engine, featuring four turbochargers and all-wheel drive. In its four years of production, only 139 cars were built, making it the rarest car on the list.

DeLorean DMC-12 - 40 years

 DeLorean DMC-12 - 40 years

Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, this car is most recognisable as the time machine from the Back to the Future franchise. The car features gull-wing doors and brushed stainless steel outer body design. Although some were disappointed by the car’s lack of power, it remains an iconic model, and around 6,500 DeLoreans are owned today.

Rolls-Royce Corniche - 50 years

Rolls-Royce Corniche - 50 years

The Corniche is a two-door, front-engine luxury car produced as a hardtop coupe from 1971 to 1980 and as a convertible from 1971 to 1995. The car is powered by Rolls-Royce’s 6.75-litre V8 engine. It gained notability by it’s famous owners, including David Bowie, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Frank Sinatra. Production totaled about 4,000, excluding the Bentley version that became known as the Bentley Continental.


Jaguar E-Type - 60 years

When founder Sir Williams Lyons released the E-Type at a 1961 motor show, he drew quite a crowd of admirers. The model set a new precedent in automotive performance, for only a fraction of the price of previous competitors. Coupe and convertible models of the E-Type were manufactured until 1975, when it was replaced by the XJS.

Renault 4 - 60 years

Renault 4 - 60 years

This car stands out from the rest due to its affordability and appeal as the first “family car” produced by Renault. Featuring front-wheel drive and a compact design, the car was a smashing commercial success. It was produced between 1961 and 1994, during which more than eight million cars were made and exported.
